From early childhood, Lika has very serious vision problems. When Lika grew up, in order to somehow help her family, she got a job in an artel where paper flowers are produced. But unexpectedly the girl is overtaken by grief - her father dies, and poor Lika now has to take care of her brother Alexei and sister Nastya, who are much younger than her. In addition, the stepmother kicks the children out of the house right after the funeral. Lika, having no other choice, decides to temporarily live in the late grandmother's rural house, which has long been empty. Fellow villagers are trying in every way to help poor children, but even among them there were scoundrels. An eighteen-year-old teenager Dima raped the unfortunate Lika, and the police completely refuse to accept her statement. Soon after, Dmitry dies in the army from an accident, and his mother Tamara tries to take a newborn child from Lika. Toma's brother Ivan comes to the aid of Lika, who with all his might protects the girl and  Flower little Sasha. Gradually, Ivan begins to realize that he has fallen in love with Lika, but she herself does not want to be with him, because he is the uncle of a guy who dared to rape her
