The second came, in spite of his mistake, the season leader Frenchman Sebastien Ogier from the factory "Volkswagen", and the third place was taken by his partner Finn Jari-Matti Latvala.
The Russian Yevgeny Novikov could also get into the top three - he eventually became the fourth and best of the representatives of "Ford", who were especially unlucky in the race. The fourth racing weekend of the World Touring Car Championship was held in Hungary. The Hungaroring track has presented the WTCC season with a new winner and awardees. Frenchman Ivan Muller (Chevrolet) shone in qualifying, two Hondas from Hungarian Norbert Michelitz and Italian Gabriele Tarquini were in the top three. "Lada" did not shine: Briton James Thompson finished 16th, and Russian Mikhail Kozlovsky showed 21st time.
The first race for the Russian team was unsuccessful, since Thompson was carried off the track by rivals, and Kozlovsky, in the absence of experience and proper speed, finished 17th and penultimate. In the second race, the reigning British title holder Rob Huff won his first victory in the 2013 season in SEAT, the Moroccan BMW driver Mehdi Bennani came in second, and Briton Alex McDowell (Chevrolet) saw the third checkered flag. Thompson's Lada came in 12th, and Kozlovsky - 20th.
Both races were rife with accidents, mistakes and tight battles - Tarquini suffered in one of the collisions of the second race. Gabriele went to the hospi KAMANA Norbert tal where he spent the day. Examination showed no serious injuries, but Honda decided to cancel the scheduled tests. The next stage of WTCC-2013 is scheduled for May 19 in Austria.
