Not so long ago, the desire came to me to review all the horrors on Netflix. As a true fan of this genre, I have long ceased to pay attention to the ratings on Kinopoisk and IMDb, since the usual uncomplicated scarecrows there always have a low rating. So, having stumbled upon this film, the low rating did not bother me at all, but in vain ..

I do not want to write a lot about the plot, in stupid horror films it should not shine with originality. This is a typical story about a teenage boy and his mom who moved into a new house, which, moreover, is also up for sale at the same time. Unlike a typical horror movie, here the heroes are tormented not by a ghost in the house, but. ..

Stop, maybe a ghost, maybe a maniac, maybe a plumber, maybe a grandmother. The film still does not even give us a clue so that we understand what or who is trying to kill the main characters in this house.

When watching this film, I did not leave the impression that two completely different people wrote the script for him, one is calculating, loves what he does and tries to invest in it, and the second - well, what about him, he just doesn't care, well let it be. The whole film is built according to the same scheme - they prepare us, give us some hints, make us closely follow the plot, and then nothing happens, just nothing. The crazy grandmother who thinks that her husband is alive, she is needed for something in the plot, right ?. .not. She just is there to occasionally talk to the heroes to stretch the timing. Further. A plumber whose silhouette looks like the silhouette of a murderer, is it him? but no .. he is also here just to stretch the timing. A black guy who kind of knows what's going on in the basement of the house, can he give us something to reveal the plot of the movie? you think correctly, no. Each character in this film is shown in it just like that.

This is the most empty film that I have ever seen in my life, after which I will definitely never watch films with a rating below five on Kinopoisk again.

Why did my eyes fall on this film in 2019? Perhaps I wanted to see Dylan Minnett's acting. Perhaps the stars were so aligned that the 'Netflix' logo hung somewhere nearby. Was it worth it?

The scriptwriter, director and producer of the tape is a certain Matt Angel, whose track record consists of playing in all sorts of TV shows and dubious films th House for Sale at hardly made it to the Russian box office more or less extensively. And that's all. Around here, the whole creative idea of ​​Mr. 'My own director' and collides with an insurmountable wall for him, the lack of a clear understanding of where this whole story should come.

The only good detail, compared to the rest, is the relationship between mother and son. Of course, there is no smell of masterpiece here. But at least you are trying to understand them. Although when this relationship is intertwined with the context of the main story and what is happening in the house, they begin to slowly but surely turn this detail into clowning.

The technical side is also unlikely to find fault with anyone. The operator and sound engineer, who were apparently allowed to attend and do their job, are doing their job. There are no complaints either to the picture with beautiful landscapes for the sake of the atmosphere of such a lonely mountain nook, or to the work on sound, where the injection is emphasized by the corresponding effects.

But everything else is extremely sad and does not stand up to scrutiny. The picture is rather chamber, there are not too many heroes. But even they are dummies necessary in order to simply exist, go somewhere and say something. Unconsciously, you try to put all the blame on what is happening on them, but the ending, as it were, stretches out its dull 'noooo'. And he offers the viewer a murky 'babayka', who the devil knows why all this was needed.
